Covil 8 is a safety solvent made from a mixture of synthetic isoparaffins in the isoaliphatic range. As a non-polar compound, it is water-insoluble, miscible with most solvents in any proportion, and biodegradable. The decisive difference to classic cold cleaners lies in its aromatic-free nature: the odor is exceptionally mild, making spraying and misting practical in workshops and halls. Covil 8 is demulsifying, does not combine with water, and can be separated at any time via an oil separator; the product is considered slightly hazardous to water, and its evaporation number is 82. Glass, metal, paints, and plastics are not attacked. Depending on the environment, corrosion protection of approximately 8 to 14 days remains on the cleaned surface, which is advantageous for maintenance work with subsequent downtime. Please note the hazardous substance classification with the signal word Danger (H226, H304, H336).
Apply Covil 8 undiluted by dipping, spraying or wiping. Wet soiled parts or surfaces, allow the solvent to act on the contamination, and let the dissolved grease, tar, and resin residues run off or wipe them away. Repeat the process for heavy soiling. Due to classification H226, work only away from ignition sources and ensure adequate ventilation; note H304, do not ingest, H336 may cause drowsiness or dizziness. Wear respiratory protection when misting. Dispose of residues via an oil separator or industrial waste disposal.
Ready to use, do not dilute
Cleaning of engines, machines, and equipment with heavily greased surfaces, as well as removal of tar, gummed oils and greases, wax and preservatives, combustion residues, heavy oil, resin, and bitumen in maintenance, workshops, and vehicle fleets.
Does not attack glass, metal, lacquers, or plastics. As the product dissolves waxes and preservatives, desired protective layers must be considered before application. Test a small area on sensitive elastomers and and seals beforehand.
When wiping, around 100 to 200 ml per m² of heavily greased surface is required; a 30-liter canister is thus sufficient for approx. 150 to 300 m². In an immersion bath, the solvent can be used multiple times until saturation. Practical guide values, the data sheet does not state consumption.
