Description

Rost-Ex is a rust remover for stone and concrete that extracts rust stains from all types of stone such as concrete, granite, slate, marble, and shell limestone. Typical damage patterns include stains from vases, parasol stands, or metal furniture on patios and grave sites. Rust originating from inside the stone can also be treated. The practical difference from classic rust removers lies in the combination of active principle and control: The product extracts rust from the pore structure, instead of merely dissolving it superficially, and indicates when the reaction is complete through a violet discoloration. This allows the operation to be controlled without prior experience, and the treatment is repeated until the rust is no longer visible. The product contains a sulfur compound and smells accordingly, which is why work should only be carried out in well-ventilated areas.

Product application

  • Before use, check material compatibility. Apply Rost-Ex undiluted to the stains to be removed and allow it to work until the product has turned purple; this discoloration serves as an indicator of the reaction progress. Then rinse with water and repeat the treatment until the rust is no longer visible. After the exposure time, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water until the purple discoloration no longer appears. Use only in well-ventilated areas, as the product contains a sulfur compound and smells accordingly. Wear protective gloves and safety goggles, and cover adjacent metal parts.
